The Assistant Project Manager supports the successful planning, coordination, and execution of commercial electrical projects. This role works closely with project managers, field teams, and clients to maintain schedules, manage documentation, track costs, and ensure smooth project delivery. By providing essential administrative and technical support, the Assistant Project Manager helps keep projects organized, on schedule, and aligned with Electric Advantage’s standards for quality and customer satisfaction.

As an Assistant Project Manager, you will support every phase of project execution—from estimating and scheduling to procurement, documentation, and closeout. This role requires strong communication skills, excellent organization, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Assist in developing comprehensive project management plans, including safety, scope, schedule, cost, quality, communication, risk, procurement, and integration components

Visit job sites to clarify scope, gather information, and prepare cost estimates and proposals

Create and maintain work breakdown structures to organize project deliverables

Develop, monitor, and communicate project estimates using contemporary estimating software
-
Evaluate constructability and identify value‑engineering opportunities
-
Support strategies for self‑performing or subcontracting work to meet project goals

Negotiate contracts, subcontracts, and purchase orders
-
Identify potential issues early and help drive effective solutions
-
Implement project controls such as submittal logs, change order logs, and documentation workflows
-
Track project costs, manage changes, and maintain budget compliance
-
Oversee project closeout, documentation, and substantial completion requirements

Maintain working knowledge of civil, architectural, mechanical, and electrical scopes

Analyze project performance to ensure quality, profitability, and customer satisfaction

Working Conditions

Primarily office‑based with periods of standing, walking, typing, bending, and carrying materials

Indoor environment with typical office conditions (fluorescent lighting, HVAC)

Occasional lifting up to 40 lbs

Noise levels range from low to moderate

Education & Experience Requirements
-
Minimum 5 years of direct field experience
-
Minimum 5 years in the construction industry, preferably with a commercial or industrial electrical contractor

Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience considered

Experience estimating and managing both self‑performed and subcontracted work
-
Strong understanding of construction technology, scheduling, equipment, and methods
-
Professional demeanor with the ability to interact effectively with clients, vendors, and team members
-
Excellent organizational, record‑keeping, and follow‑up skills
-
Strong attention to detail and time‑management abilities
-
Ability to meet customer expectations and maintain high service standards

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel); Oracle experience preferred

Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Self‑motivated, proactive, and able to work independently or as part of a team

Compensation
Pay: $65,000 – $80,000 per year
